Jockey Elance Alternatives

Postby drake000 on Thu Jul 29, 2010 12:09 am

I own some Jockey Elance Bikini briefs and like the cut and how they fit on my body, but I've had it with the stitching on the side. It just digs into my hip and makes them uncomfortable to wear and by the end of the day i have a dent in my skin.
Does anyone have any alternatives to the Jockey Elance/ Life Bikini Briefs, something with either the same color spread or designs?
I've looked at the Merona brand but their sizing is awkward. I've been to Kohls and thought about trying the Equipo stuff but not sure of the fit, the cut looks right.
I've had bad experiences with the waistband on Hanes bikini briefs so I may try their premium comfortsoft sport briefs.

What do you guys recommend to replace my Elance bikini briefs?

I would recommend that you contact the manufacturers about that ugly and painful side seam (like hundreds of us here have already done) and tell them you won't be buying any more until they wake up and DO SOMETHING about it! Until then, wear them inside out.

I have many pairs of different styles of equipo underwear. They fit and feel very well. I like them.

You should definitely give the Hanes premium comfortsoft sport briefs a try. I don't ever notice the seam and the fabric is nice and soft. They're relatively inexpensive and I also didn't have to buy a size up like I did with Elance.

does anyone know if the life brand (from wallmart) version of the elance bikini have that same side seam? im with drake000, love the style of elance bikinis but wont buy/wear them because of that awful side seam. if they didnt have that side seam they could very well be the perfect bikini brief.

You might check out the Covington line from Sears. I'm not normally a bikini brief guy but I've always liked them, great fit and comfy.

With the Life brand, I've never noticed the side seam (although I don't notice it on every pair of Elance I have, only certain ones). There has been some talk of inconsistent sizing with the Life briefs though, and the first pack I bought a few years ago was size L (usually I'm a medium) and they were way too tight, so when I wanted to try them again about a year ago, I bought size XL and I find that they're still very snug.

Mansilk bikinis are a pleasure. Fit well. Feel great. Many nice colors. Anyone else wear these? :goodman:

Yes, I have a couple pair of Mansilk. When it comes to comfort....I love these...mine are all thongs, but still Mansilk is wonderful.
Surprised to hear the side seams are such a problem...I don't even notice the seams. But if you do, there are a lot of pairs, styles a nd brands that are seamless. Just keep looking, they are out there..Heck I own a couple pair that are completely seamless...so I know there are some with no side seams.

The ones I own with side seams... the seams are so small I don't even notice them.

Keep looking ...they are out there!

i notice that with the jockey elance, the side seam on the right side is more bothersome than the left. anyone else notice this?

I have an underwear bud who very much likes the Covington brand bikini because they have thinner sides and are not too tight--they seem to give him, and he's packing quite nicely--the room he needs.
